The more I think about this whole C comments mess, the less this situation makes sense. I already said this before, but I have a feeling that there is still one piece in this puzzle missing.

So we have radio silence on SM from both HC and NV (not counting the MT post, because that is business). Then we have the WC where HC made some statements, that in my opinion, were a little out of place. Where the “so of my friends are like brothers to me” statement was made, and strangely enough one of his friends makes one first comment in a “fan page”, about HC private life and his whole public persona. I would really believe it would be C lashing out if it was only one comment, but waiting the amount of time that he did to comment again, felt like waiting to see everyone’s feedback, and assess how to respond. It is too calculated to not be either arranged or HC had to know, the second response felt like more like HC himself, than the caption on the jet post.

But I still can’t get some things straight, why now? Was it because people on forums were talking about how he never stands up for something unless he profits from it? Because after the WC, we only had the Rosie Project announcement (where people did start questioning if was the right job for him, and he would have time for it) and the racism towards the English players (that he didn’t address like we all knew he wouldn’t).

If someone chooses to stay silent when we are speaking about serious things like human rights, that person shouldn’t use the expression “social enlightenment” to make a marvellous post defending himself, because that post was more saving his face than anything else. So considering the entitlement, I would say that if HC didn’t write that second comment himself, he did give C the keynotes.

I’m sorry for the long wait on this answer, specially because it’s a none answer. The more I think about this situation less sense it makes. Like you said something is right, I feel like something is just out of the place. Instead of asking yourself why he waited so long between replies, ask why now ? Why two months after the FO post? Why commenting in public when he could tell that to is friend in private? Why keeping add things?? For me this is just another chapter in this whole mess. For which of them is using whom, no idea, but something tells me they are using eachother, even if the first comment didn’t have that intention, the nonsense of the second had.

And by nonsense I mean the justification that HC has a free pass on certain matters just because he doesn’t care, or because is not well informed, or whatever Corey meant. This is the part on that second comment that I’m still trying to process. Today someone told something like “staying in silence in certain things, or times in our lives when the privilege is on our side, ir like living in purgatory”, not only our silence speaks volumes, but we are also judged by it. So no, on my book he doesn’t deserve a free pass.
